A site on the scale of Mihintale with almost no visitors, including a half-carved Buddha about 16 feet long left in the rock.

A forested hill north of Ampara whose slopes hold more than 600 ruins and nearly 100 stupas across some 1,600 acres, with monks resident before the 1st century BCE. A Brahmi inscription names the elders Ittiya and Mahinda, one of only two rock inscriptions anywhere that mention Mahinda; the other is at Mihintale.
