A September chariot festival and an 18th-century chariot, in a village that also carries the memory of massacres in 1987 and 1991.

A Shiva temple in the farming country west of Batticaloa lagoon, one of the seven Thiruppadai temples of the region and one of only two kovils in Sri Lanka whose lingam is held to be naturally formed. Its chariot festival usually falls in September, with a main chariot carrying wooden sculptures from the 18th century.
