A shoreline 25 km north of Jaffna where a freshwater mineral spring feeds stepped bathing pools built hard against the ocean: a men's pool open to the sea and a smaller walled pool for women. The Naguleswaram Shiva temple stands in the same village, and legend credits the water with healing a 7th-century Chola princess.
