Reachable by train from Colombo Fort, with Keerimalai's spring pools 4 km along the coast.
A sandy, palm-backed beach at Kankesanthurai on the north coast of the Jaffna peninsula, between the inactive 1893 lighthouse and the army-run Thalsevana resort, with the naval port in view. The area sat inside a High Security Zone during the war; KKS is again the last stop of the Yal Devi train from Colombo.
