The reef sits close enough to the beach that you can swim out and snorkel over live coral without needing a boat.

A 4-km stretch of beach on the southwest coast with a fringing coral reef inside a designated marine sanctuary. The main break works for beginner and intermediate surfers, and the reef sections in front of the sanctuary are shallow enough to snorkel from shore.
