The most revered stupa in Sri Lanka — rebuilt and whitewashed across two thousand years of continuous worship.
The great white dome of Anuradhapura, built by King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BCE and still an active shrine. Pilgrims circle the 103-metre stupa's terrace at dusk, when the dome is lit.
