Grown from a cutting of the Bodhi tree at Bodh Gaya and planted in 288 BCE — the oldest tree in the world with a recorded planting date.

A sacred fig tree located in Anuradhapura, believed to be a sapling from the original tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, planted in 288 BCE. It is one of the oldest living trees in the world and an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
