One of the few wild wetlands left inside Colombo, with over 150 bird species a short drive from the city centre.

A marsh and canal system in the southern suburbs of Colombo, declared a sanctuary in 1990 to protect one of the city's last urban wetlands. More than 150 bird species use it, within a few kilometres of Dehiwala and Nugegoda.
