The resort strip that visitors call Beruwala Beach: a reef-sheltered bay at Moragalla, 3 km south of Beruwala's fishing harbour and running down towards the Bentota river mouth. Rocks break the waves so the water sits like a pool, with the Barberyn Island lighthouse a short boat ride offshore.
