One of the island's largest lagoon bird sanctuaries, where flamingos and pelicans gather among traditional stake-net fishermen.

A large brackish lagoon on the northeast coast, straddling the Mullaitivu and Trincomalee district border and protected as a bird sanctuary. Fishing communities work its shallows, and flamingos and pelicans gather here in the northern winter.
