One of the south coast's richest birdwatching spots, with over 150 recorded species and dawn boat trips through the lagoon.
A coastal wetland of lagoons, mangroves, and scrub east of Tangalle, set aside as a bird sanctuary in 1984. More than 150 bird species have been recorded here, and walking tracks and small boats reach the water's edge.
