Resident turtles a few metres off the rocks, but large areas of reef, so pick a sandy-bottomed spot before swimming.

A stretch of sand 5 minutes by tuk-tuk east of Unawatuna, mapped as Delawella at the western end and Wijaya Beach to the east, and nicknamed Turtle Beach for the sea turtles seen off Wijaya Rock. The palm-tree rope swing stands in front of a guesthouse at the western end, which charges a fee for a go.
