A Bawa hotel on the sand and a railway station on the coast line, with the turtle beaches of Kosgoda a few minutes north.

A sandy beach backed by a wide belt of coconut palms at Ahungalla, between Kosgoda and Balapitiya, about 15 km south of Bentota and 40 km north of Galle. Its landmark is Heritance Ahungalla, the former Hotel Triton that Geoffrey Bawa designed in 1979 to 1981.
