Sri Lanka's Second-Highest Peak

“On a clear morning the summit looks south to the Hill Country and east toward the Mahaweli valley. Cloud often closes in by mid-morning, so trails are walked early.

Totapolakanda — known locally as Thotupola Kanda — is the second-highest peak in Sri Lanka, after Pidurutalagala. It sits inside Horton Plains National Park near Pattipola; the summit trail starts from the park's main road and follows a moderate climb through cloud forest.
