Sri Lanka's highest peak. The military closure means there's no summit hike, but the road climbs high enough on a clear morning to see across the central highlands.

Pidurutalagala, at 2,524 metres, is the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka, rising directly above Nuwara Eliya. The summit itself is a military installation closed to the public; visitors drive partway up the access road for views over the town and the surrounding tea country.
