Still water for a swim within walking distance of Tangalle town centre, when the open beaches are too rough.
A small rock-sheltered swimming spot on the east side of Tangalle harbour, less than a kilometre from the town centre, listed on Wikipedia as the Parewella Natural Swimming Area. Rocks cut it off from the open bay, which is itself enclosed by a reef.
