Sri Lanka's Coast Guard lists the copper-hulled wreck here among the country's recognised dive sites.
A reef and lighthouse about 14 km offshore, 23 km northeast of Great Basses along the Yala coast. Two shipwrecks lie in its shallow water, including a wooden Dutch-origin steamship with a copper-plated hull resting at 18 to 20 metres.
