River on one side, ocean on the other, a few minutes' walk from the only stupa you can walk inside.

Calido Beach is a thin strip of sand between the Kalu Ganga, one of the island's four major rivers, and the open sea, on the north side of the river mouth at Kalutara. The 38-metre Kalutara bridge and the hollow Kalutara Chaitya stand just inland.
