Waist-deep flat water across the whole lagoon, so beginners can stand up between attempts instead of swimming.
A sheltered lagoon on the Kalpitiya peninsula, roughly 800 metres wide, 2 km long and about 1.5 metres deep, lined with kite schools. The wind runs in two seasons: a stronger one from May to October and a second from mid-December to mid-February.
