The most reachable sizeable fall from Deniyaya, the usual base for Sinharaja rainforest visits.
Hathmale Falls drops about 45 meters near Deniyaya, on streams draining the Sinharaja side of the Matara district. A side road off the Deniyaya–Pallegama road ends after about 1 km, leaving a 250-meter walk and a steep climb down.
