Among the handful of caves where remains of prehistoric Balangoda Man were found.
A prehistoric rock shelter in the hills above Kitulgala, reached through the Inoya estate by track and a final stepped footpath. Excavations recovered human remains dated to about 16,000 years ago, with stone tools and food remains from far older layers.
